Led Zeppelin Memorabilia Makes The Ultimate Gift.

What A Great Gift Idea

People are always looking for the Ultimate Gift for a friend or family member. What else would make a better gift than something signed by a Sport or Movie star or their favourite Musician or Band. Imagine seeing the look on their face when they unwrap their gift and are blown away by what they now have just received. What a great gift idea, Hey!

Led Zeppelin Signed Memorabilia Makes The Ultimate Gift Idea to any die hard fan. It means something, it’s special, it comes with a certificate of authenticity and most importantly it will increase in value. Most gifts whether for Birthday, Christmas or just because you love and respect the person don’t increase in value as time goes on but Signed Memorabilia does. Take for instance the sad and untimely death of basketballer Kobe Bryant the demand for his memorabilia skyrocketed as well as the prices the day after his death.

Same as when Michael Jackson Passed away his signed memorabilia increased by thirty percent minutes after details of his death were announced.  Imagine what will happen to Signed Memorabilia by Jimmy Page or Robert Plant or the other members of the Led Zeppelin when their time comes (and let’s face it it’s not very far away). Led Zeppelin signed memorabilia is the ultimate gift that will increase in value.

My Father is a huge Beach Boys fan and I recently bought him a framed picture signed by Mike Love and Brian Wilson, he was so happy when he opened it he immediately put it up on his wall in the living room and I get to see it every time I visit and remember the joy it gave him.

Your Love One or friend will be so surprised and happy with this amazing gift and will show it off in their home for many years to come. I also know the remaining members of The Beach Boys days are sadly numbered and I will definitely telling my father to get the items valued.

Alternatively there is also some cheaper and more affordable Led Zeppelin Memorabilia that can be found on eBay and Amazon. Although most of this type of Memorabilia is more novelty type items that won’t increase in value they still look good and make the perfect gift for any occasion. Things ranging from rare photos, books and even glassware. My favourite though is the picture frame that comes with photos and a plaque containing the history of your favourite band, actor or sport star.

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin were formed in 1968 in London. After Jimmy Page had some taste for fame with the Yardbirds he decided to put his own band together. He was told about a great singer named Robert Plant that had a voice like a guitar so Jimmy Page asked Robert to audition at his house. It was then Robert who suggested John Bonham as their drummer and John Paul Jones a session musician and friend of Jimmy’s joined as the bass player. They were known as The New Yardbirds first before changing it to Led Zeppelin. Jimmy also recruited ex yardbirds manager Peter Grant to manage the boys. Peter Grant’s tough management style and experience saw Led Zeppelin’s first tour of America in 1968. The band then toured America continuously after that. Led Zeppelin signed a record deal with Atlantic which would see the boys produce 8 studio albums. Plant wrote the lyrics while Page would compose the music.

During the 1970s Led Zeppelin had reached new heights in the rock business and Peter Grant’s management saw them become the highest paying touring band in the world, that would shape the way other major bands would deal with promoters when they toured. The band had it all, groupies, drugs and even their own plane called the Starship where much mayhem would take place on trips to different states where they were to perform next.

Led Zeppelin soon got a reputation while on tour. They were known to party hard and enjoy the delights of fame including tearing up hotel rooms and causing destruction where ever they performed . For all of Led Zeppelin’s fame and fortune, their massive hits and crazy antics, the band was not without tragedy in their lives, Plant’s son Karac died at the age of 5, Jimmy page had an addiction to heroin and Bono died in his sleep after choking on his vomit while passed out drunk in 1980, which saw the break up of the band.

The Death Of John Bonham

As usual Bonham had large amounts of alcohol while rehearsing with the band, he continued drinking at Jimmy Page’s house later that night until midnight when he passed out and one of the Led Zeppelin crew put him to bed.

He was found dead the next afternoon at the age of 32. The book reveals that he had the equivalent of 40 shots of Vodka and choked on his own vomit sometime that early morning of the 25th September 1980. Led Zeppelin decided to disband then replace Bonham, he was such a good drummer that he was basically irreplaceable.

Memorabilia Comes in all Shapes and Sizes

Memorabilia is all about the Nostalgia and theres so much different types of Memorabilia that you can find. When it comes to Elvis Presley Memorabilia theres no shortage of choice. On eBay alone you can find everything from vintage concert posters to Tour Jackets and T shirts and even limited edition professionally taken photos.

On Amazon you can find Custom Framed Gold Plated LPs, Wall Clocks and of course Promo Posters, Concert Memorabilia and much much more. All these items are great and will make the perfect gift. They look good displayed in the home or on the wall and will put a smile on anyones face, but they will very rarely increase in value and they don’t have that personal touch that Signed Memorabilia has.

Unfortunately Signed Memorabilia can be pricey and is more suited as an investment than a gift. In saying that though if you can get a group to chip in, signed memorabilia would make the ultimate gift that someone could cherish for many years to come. Keeping in mind though you need to do your research before hand and buy from a reputable dealer. For this I recommend HollywoodMemorabilia.com.

  1. I love Led Zeppelin, my father played their vinyl records often when I was growing up (the 90’s, yes my parents STILL have their record player from the 70’s in good shape!). I even got the vinyl bug even though I only have about a dozen records. Anyways back to Led Zeppelin. It’s so sad that Bohnam died at such a young age. Too many legendary rockers have died the same way (Jim Morrison of The Doors comes to mind) and just so tragic. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are still legends to this day, they are truly immortal. Great post, looking forward to more!

    • Thanks for the comment I still have my vinyl collection even though I don’t use them anymore I could never part with them.

  2. Thank you for this awesome post!! For a long time I have loved Led Zeppelin.  I was born in the nineties, but grew up with a love of seventies and eighties.  I have been wanting to get a signed album by Led Zeppelin for a while.  Thank you for recommending the hollywood site, and I’ll check them out!

  3. Wow, I am not that much of a big fan of Zed Zeppelin but my dad is and he still listens to his music. I do not know if buying a guitar signed by him will be a very good gift to get him but I know he is a die hard fan of the man. I would very much like a gift for him though. Thanks for sharing that website as well. I hope that they sell other signed stuff apart from the guitar.

    • Hi thanks for the comment, there is plenty of different signed memorabilia you can check out not just a signed guitar but posters and Albums and all sorts of things.

  4. It would be a very great privilege to get one of the memorabilia from Zed Zeppelin. He is a big icon on my family and we really love to listen to his music around here. I fell like it will be very nice to have him. Thank you for an insight into his life as well and I will make sure that I watch the video that you added here on some more of his documentary. Thanks.

  5. Bonham was such a good drummer who was basically irreplaceable. Such a character with a reputation of Led Zeppelin the signature of fame and fortune that means you have reached new heights. We have to be Very careful with whatever great character living in us so to enjoy ourselves responsibly. Thank you for sharing such great information hoping to hear from you.

    • Hi Joy thanks for the comment. John Bonham was a big part of the Led Zeppelin sound and although his son is a great drummer he is no match. Alcoholism is a disease that has affected many people I think unfortunately when your in the limelight no one says anything especially back then.

  6. I really like to collect some things that celebrities have used, their signatures, clothes and hats, and so on. Hollywood Memorabilia is indeed a very good platform. You can find a lot of things they have used. This is also an excellent investment opportunity, but you need to have some experience. Thank you for this article let me know about it.

    • Hi Jax thanks for the comment I totally agree you need to do you research and buy from a trusted dealer before purchasing signed memorabilia.
