Memorabilia is the Ultimate Gift Idea
People are always looking for the Ultimate Gift for a friend or family member. What else would make a better gift than something signed by a Sport or Movie star or their favourite Musician or Band. Imagine seeing the look on their face when they unwrap their gift and are blown away by what they now have just received.
Signed Memorabilia is the ultimate gift. It means something, it’s special, it comes with a certificate of authenticity and most importantly it will increase in value. Most gifts whether for Birthday, Christmas or just because you love and respect the person don’t increase in value as time goes on but Signed Memorabilia does.
My Father is a huge Beach Boys fan and I recently bought him a framed picture signed by Mike Love and Brian Wilson, he was so happy when he opened it he immediately put it up on his wall in the living room and I get to see it every time I visit and remember the joy it gave him. I also know the remaining members of The Beach Boys days are sadly numbered and I will definitely be telling my father to get the items valued.
Your Love One or friend will be so surprised and happy with this amazing gift and will show it off in their home for many years to come. Alternatively there is also some cheaper and more affordable Memorabilia that can be found on eBay and Amazon. Although most of this type of Memorabilia is more novelty type items that won’t increase in value they still look good and make the perfect gift for any occasion. Things ranging from rare photos, books and even glassware. My favourite though is the picture frame that comes with photos and a plaque containing the history of your favourite band, actor or sport star.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers Greatest Hits….
Anthony Kiedis, Hillel Slovak and Flea started playing together because they shared a love for punk music. They played their first show at the Rhythm Lounge in front of a small crowd and the owner was so impressed they were asked to come back the following week. They were eventually signed to EMI through the bands’ manager Lindy Goetz and went into the studio to work on their debut album.
During this time Anthony was a heavy user of cocaine and heroin and would often let the band down by not showing up to rehearsals or performances. It got so bad that he was eventually fired from the group and decided to return to Michigan to clean up at his Mother’s house. Once clean Flea asked Anthony to come back to the band and the boys began making music together.
They then worked with George Clinton who produced the band’s second album Freaky Styley. As with the first album, Freaky Styley never saw much success but the red hot chili peppers were starting to get a following to their live performances. Anthony was starting to use again and guitarist Hillel Slovak was also addicted to heroin.
On June 25th 1988, tragedy hit the band when guitarist and long time friend Hillel Slovak died of an overdose on heroin. Anthony was shattered by the news and went into rehab to kick his out of control addiction. Slovak was replaced by guitarist John Frusciante and Chad Smith also joined the band around this time as the Red Hot Chili Peppers new drummer. With the new line up the band began work on their next album, Mother’s Milk.
The album had limited success and would see the band achieve international fame. By 1990 the band had enough with EMI and looked to sign with a new label, finally settling for Warner Bros records. They started on their fifth album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik. This was the bands’ breakthrough album and would see the boys reach new heights. Drugs still continued to be a problem for Anthony and he once again was in a dark place even though the band was going stronger than ever.
Frusciante was starting to struggle with the bands’ new-found fame and problems between him and Anthony were reaching boiling point. Eventually John quit the band and Dave Navarro joined as Red Hot Chili Pepper’s new guitarist. The band started working on their next album ‘One hot minute’. With the release of One hot minute the band went on tour but cracks were beginning to show and the tour was cut short.
Anthony hurt his hand quite badly in a motorcycle accident which saw the return of his addiction because of the painkillers. He went off the rails and the cycle started once again. Dave Navarro was also dealing with his own addiction and his time with the band was coming to an end. Dave left the band and John Frusciante returned. In June 1999 the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s released their next album ‘Californication’. With the return of John in the band the Red Hot Chili Peppers were back better than ever and started a 2 year Californication tour. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rick Rubin worked on their next album ‘By The Way’. After the success of Californication the boys were brimming with confidence and it shows on the album.
In 2006 the band released another album ‘Stadium Arcadium’ again produced by Rick Rubin the album won 5 Grammy awards. It was also the first time the Red Hot Chili Peppers debut at number 1 on the music charts. After another world tour the boys took a break. Anthony had just became a father to his daughter Everly Bear. Frusciante once again left the band and was replaced by Red Hot Chili Peppers touring guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. I’m With You is the bands tenth album and was released in 2011. In April of 2011 the Red Hot Chili Peppers were in ducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. The Red hot Chili Peppers still work hard recording and touring. They have a massive following which only keeps getting bigger and bigger.
