Finding the ultimate gift for that someone in your life can be a challenge at the best of times especially if they seem to have everything they need already. Socks and underwear are boring and even women seem to shrug at fancy launderette these days. Chocolate never lasts and no one listens to CD’s or watches DVD’s anymore. Then there’s the problem that you do find them the perfect gift you think they will love and someone else has got it for them as well or they already had it hidden in their house somewhere. And let’s not forget there’s all the different occasions you have to find the perfect gift for.
- Father’s Day
- Mother’s Day
- Valentines Day
- and even more
So what is the Ultimate Gift for any occasion, that suits everybody because everybody will love it and you can add to their collection every year. Well let me first tell you the first time I received what I would consider the Ultimate Gift and how it has saved me the hassle of shopping around and looking for that gift that on the off chance the person doesn’t already have or does really want. It was Father’s Day 2015, I love my kids’ but over the years they have surprised me with the usual Father’s day gifts like a mug or socks or a book.
Now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with these gifts, I admit they are a little boring but they are useful and plus it’s the thought that counts. Father’s Day 2015 my 3 kids’ woke me up with the usual breakfast in bed and a rather large present that looked like a photo frame. Now the kids’ no I am a big music fan and I love bands and artists like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, AC/DC and of course The Doors, so what I thought was going to be a lovely photo of the three of them actually turned out to be this awesome AC/DC memorabilia that came with a couple of photos of the band, a Back in Black CD and a plaque containing their history and this was all neatly framed behind glass and I loved it.
It looked awesome on my wall in the living room. They must have noticed how ecstatic I was because I received a Nirvana one for Christmas and a Led Zeppelin one for my birthday. Then I started getting sports ones as well of my favorite football and rugby teams and I thought what a great gift and they look so good on the wall, friends and family started commenting on them so I started buying them ones as well.
Where Can You Purchase The Ultimate Gift.
Amazon and eBay have a large range of different type of memorabilia and it doesn’t always have to be a picture either. You can find all sorts of great memorabilia. Things like old album covers, or concert posters, T-shirts, mugs and even old tins. They all look good and have meaning and history behind them. You can even find stores in Shopping centers and Malls that sell all sorts of memorabilia but they seem to be coming less frequent as the online stores take over. There is a lot of stores online that specialize in sport or music and movie memorabilia that is autographed, rare or just for displaying in your home as more of a novelty.
How Much Does The Ultimate Gift Cost.
This all depends on how much you like the person and want to spend on them, I recently got my friend an AC/DC 1996 Ballbreaker tour poster in mint condition on eBay for $44 Australian. I got him these as we both went to the concert together that year. He absolutely loved it. I also spent a couple of thousand dollars on a Beach Boys album cover signed by Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine.
I purchased it from HollywoodMemorabilia.com for my Dad’s 50th Birthday and he was over the moon. He actually had a tear in his eye and it hangs proudly on his living room wall for everyone to see. Yes it was expensive but it’s about 10 years old now and might be worth a lot more especially when one of the members die. I love my Dad and it was worth every penny to see the joy it gave him and still gives him. So Memorabilia can cost anything from under $100 to millions of dollars. It’s really up to you and if you’re buying it as just to show off, as a gift or as an investment.
The Ultimate Gift That Will Increase In Value Over Time.
So what makes this the best of the ultimate gift. It’s that fact that if you choose can purchase the more expensive Autographed memorabilia which will increase in value. I think the best example of that is the recent and sad loss of Kobe Bryant in that horrible helicopter crash. The prices for Kobe Bryant Autographed Memorabilia skyrocketed reaching up to the over a million dollar mark for some more rare items that had historical meaning.
The demand for his memorabilia went through the roof and even weeks after people are still paying huge money to get their hands on anything he signed. Something happened when Michael Jackson died and even to this day prices are much higher for his signed memorabilia than they were before he died in 2009 and they keep increasing. So even as investment Autographed Memorabilia can be a great choice for you or for someone close to you.
Everybody knows a sports fan or a movie fan or knows someone who has a favourite band. Memorabilia is the ultimate gift that is going to put a smile on anyone’s face. It doesn’t have to be expensive either, you can find all sorts of memorabilia on eBay or Amazon or anywhere online for that matter. If you do decide to go with signed memorabilia which is more expensive but is more meaningful and will increase in value please read my blog on what to do to avoid the fakes and not get scammed as although it is a sad fact it does happen if you don’t take precautions.
